✦ OUR PROCESS

How We Work

Every trust or estate is different, but our approach stays consistent. From the first conversation through final distribution, we keep you informed, explain what comes next, and manage each responsibility with transparency and care.

Our Process, Step by Step

Step One · Where It Starts

Initial Consultation

We start with a conversation, not a contract. We'll walk through your situation, whether it's a fresh loss, an inherited asset you're not sure how to manage, or a trust already in dispute, and explain how an independent fiduciary can help.

Step Two · The Foundation

Document & Asset Review

We review the trust, will, or governing documents alongside a full inventory of assets, including any niche or hard-to-value holdings like cryptocurrency, royalty streams, or intellectual property. This step sets the foundation for everything that follows.

Step Three · Your Advisors

Coordination With Your Team

We work directly with your attorney, CPA, and any other advisors already involved. Battleborn doesn't replace your legal or tax counsel. We coordinate with them, so nothing falls through the gaps between roles.

Step Four · The Day-to-Day

Administration Begins

From here, we manage the day-to-day work of trust administration or estate settlement: asset protection, accounting, communication with beneficiaries, and adherence to the governing documents and Nevada law.

Step Five · No Surprises

Ongoing Communication

You'll hear from us at every meaningful step, not just when something goes wrong. Clear, direct updates, without unnecessary jargon, are part of how we operate, and you'll always know what's required of you or from our office.

Step Six · Carried Through

Resolution & Distribution

We carry the administration through to its conclusion: final accounting, distributions, and closing out the estate or trust in accordance with the grantor's intentions and the governing documents.

✦ Who Leads Your Case

A Process Shaped by 21+ Years of Experience

Battleborn’s process reflects Andrea Lalen-Kasten’s 21+ years of fiduciary experience. From the first conversation through ongoing administration and final distribution, the focus remains on clear communication, careful documentation, and consistent follow-through. You know what is happening, what comes next, and who is responsible for handling each step.

✦ Already in Dispute?

What This Looks Like for Contested Situations

✦ The Same Process · A Neutral Party
When a trust or estate is already being disputed, this same process still applies. It just starts from a more complicated place. Andrea steps in as the neutral party focused strictly on the governing documents and the grantor’s intentions, not on any one individual’s version of events. Transparency and consistent communication become even more important here, since they’re often what a contested situation has been missing.
Common Questions

Answers, before you ever pick up the phone

How long does trust or estate administration typically take?

It depends on the complexity of the assets and whether the trust or estate is contested, but most straightforward administrations move through the process in a matter of months, not years. We’ll give you a realistic timeline once we’ve reviewed your specific situation.

What if we're just getting started and don't have all the paperwork yet?

That’s normal, and it’s exactly what the initial consultation is for. We’ll help you figure out what documents you need and where to find them, rather than asking you to arrive with everything already organized.
